Sphynx Cats - "Lexi and Lincoln"
Pet Portrait, Cat Oil, 14 x 18 inches
The Sphynx is covered by a soft, downy coat; however, it is often referred to as "hairless." Because it lacks little real hair to absorb normal body oils, it must be bathed regularly. The ears must also be cleaned frequently.
Sphynx cats love to show off, are inclined to mischief, but are friendly and affectionate. The room in which this portrait was to hang contained burgundy and teal appointments, and the client asked me to include either color in the background. The teal did not work out--it conflicted with the bluish tones in the cats--but a subdued tone of burgundy, painted in drape fashion, worked out well.
