The coat on a Cornish Rex cat is wavy, very short, and soft to the touch like crushed velvet. The body is slender, the head somewhat small in comparison, and the ears large. This breed comes in many colors; Sammy is an orange variety. The Cornish Rex is playful and active, affectionate and loving, very fleet of foot, and a strong high jumper.
