Collie - "Ozzie"
Pet Portrait, Dog Oil, 16 x 20 inches
A very intelligent dog, the Collie is easy to train. Originally from Scotland, the Collie was for many generations
used for herding sheep. They are beautiful dogs, generally sensitive, kind, playful, and good with children. Due to their herding instinct Collies may have a tendency to nip at people's heels, particularly when puppies. The Collie in this portrait is an assistance dog for a disabled person. Notice the heavy harness with the handle. The marigolds in the background had special meaning for the client also; she planted them herself, with the help of the dog.
