This Golden Retriever's coat had unusual transitions from light to dark, and was very interesting to paint. I feel a larger size than 11 x 14 inches is better for large dogs like the Retriever, but this portrait still looked pretty effective in the small size. Buffy is a beautiful dog, regardless of the size of the portrait.
